Seachem Alkaline Buffer 600g

Together with Acid Buffer, it is intended for use in Dutch Aquariums (with lots of vegetation) or tanks with hard water, where the addition of phosphate buffer can cause increases of side algae or turbidity.

Alkaline Buffer Increases the reaction and maintains it at 7.2 - 8.5. It is safe and improves environmental conditions in freshwater tanks. What distinguishes Alkaline Buffer from other similar preparations is the lack of phosphates in the composition. Thanks to this, the preparation is suitable for aquariums richly planted with plants in which excess phosphorus relationships could cause gymnos.

How to use: 

• Daily add to 7g on 80 liters of water to obtain the desired reaction (the recommended dose increases the hardness of 2MEQ / L, or 5.6 DKH).
• If the water is soft or insufficiently buffered, it is recommended to use Alkaline Buffer including ACID BUFFER.

Tips:

• Alkaline Buffer does not reduce the odor, so it can be added directly to the tank at any time of the day.
• It maintains a reaction at 7.8, but in combination with ACID BUFFER you can receive values between 7.2 and 8.5.
• First, select the amount of "Alkaline Buffer" to the water volume, depending on the value of KH, which we want to obtain.
• Then we divide the calculated amount by the coefficient from the central column, thus obtaining the required mass "Acid Buffer".

Table of proportions recommended for obtaining a target reading:

Using the y / o water or deionized water substitution, it is recommended to use Alkaline Buffer from ACID BUFFER in the above proportions. After obtaining the desired reaction, add water to the aquarium as soon as possible to avoid pH fluctuations (for better results, determine the proportion based on the weight of the product added).
