Seachem de nitrate 1l
DE Nitrate is an efficient, natural, porous filter medium in which the pore location and their size are optimal for bacteria leading nitrification and denitrification processes.
Oxygenic micro-organisms are located on the surface of granules and shallow inside the pores, anaerobic - deep in the inner part. Thanks to its structure, the material has a large surface, creating adequate conditions for a large amount of bacteria. Although de Nitrate has the ability to bind nitrates, it is quite limited (similarly to some types of zeolites and synthetic resins), and the main process of removing these compounds is anaerobic nature, as in the case of "live rock". The efficiency of this process can be increased by placing de nitrate in the filter to ensure the flow of water that will "squeeze" through the pores. However, it should be avoided too intense circulation, as it may disrupt the anaerobic conditions in which denitrification bacteria live. De Nitrate is also a great medium for oxygen nitrification processes and therefore can be used as a contribution to canal filters, sprinkled deposits, Sumps or internal filters. With a large flow of water (over 400 liters per hour) in DE NITRATE, oxygen processes occur primarily, and when the flow is low (below 200 liters per hour) - both oxygen and anaerobic.
How to use:
Place de nitrate in a place where water flow is provided, for example in a cancer filter, chemical filtration module or internal filter. The flow rate should not exceed 200l / h. If this is not possible, Matrix or Pond Matrtix is recommended. Rinse before use! After a few days of insertion, the level of nitrates should begin to lower up to 4-5 mg / l. As long as it maintains on this level, the product works properly. Each 500ml de nitrate is able to clean 100 - 200 l of water, depending on the starting level of nitrates and the number of cast. It is best to choose the amount of the preparation to remove nitrates on a regular basis. In the case of a high output concentration of these compounds, pre-reduce their level to 20 mg / L with water replacement.
