Seachem Prime 50 ml

Prime is a concentrated agent for treating water intended for both freshwater and sea aquariums. Neutralizes chlorine, chlorurbine and ammonia, turning it into a non-toxic form, quickly removed by the biological filter. It can be used during the tank maturation process to reduce the level of ammonia and nitrites. Binding nitrates and nitrites, facilitates their removal of biological filters. It also neutralizes heavy metals present in tap water. Accelerates the production and regeneration of the protective mucous layer on the body of the fish. There is no sour reaction and does not affect the pH of water. It does not charge excessive skimmers. It is recommended to add it when setting up a new aquarium and every water change many companies generate neutralizing preparations in the water of chlorine, but none of them is equally effective as Prime produced by Seach.

This is the second in terms of concentrating active substances the water treatment of the water after Alpha from the Aquavitro line of the same producer. 100 ml packaging is enough to clean almost 4,000 liters of water. Prime contains a compound transforming ammonia, nitrite and nitrates into a non-toxic form. The operation of all the treatments is based on chemical processes called reduction reactions. Toxic chlorine (CL2) dissolved in water is transformed into safe chlorine ions (CL-). In the reduction reaction, there is also a discontinuation between the bonds between the atoms of chlorine and nitrogen in chloramine molecule (NH2CL), which causes the release of chlorine atoms and replacing them by hydrogen, resulting in a formation A molecule of ammonia (NH3). In this stage, most of the usual treatment agents stops working, leaving a large amount of dangerous ammonia in water. The Seachem company went a step further, adding ammonia binding to Prime. The purchase of a suitable type of treatment should be well thought out. If the water in taps contains chloramine, classic sodium-based preparations may not be enough. Prime stimulates the production and regeneration of the protective lock layer on the body of fish, also has the advantage (especially important for marine aquarists) that it does not burden the skimmer of proteins.

How to use:
Apply 1 nut (5 ml) for every 200 liters of water prepared. This dose allows you to remove 1 mg / l of ammonia, 4 mg / l chloramine or 5 mg / l chlorine. Smaller doses: Each thread incision inside the nuts corresponds to a volume of 1 ml. The preparation can be poured directly into the aquarium (adjusting the quantity to its volume), but it is better to add it to the tank in which water is prepared for the replacement. The emerging smell of sulfur is a normal phenomenon. When the chloramine concentration is particularly high, a double dose can be used. In the case of rapidly increasing the level of nitrites in the aquarium, it is safe to be used to use up to five times higher doses. When the water temperature is higher than 30 degrees, and low chlorine or ammonia, you can add half of the recommended amount of the preparation.
